Raising children is not always a breeze. As a parent or caregiver, you try incredibly hard to handle and resolve all situations to the best of your ability. However, sometimes (or often) that doesn’t go the way you envisioned. It is an interplay between your child, your shared (parenting) experiences, the circumstances, and of course what happens to you and what tools you have available. Conscious parenting is about this last element: your self-awareness as a parent and your vision on parenting, and the tools you have to respond to situations in line with your parenting values. <\/p>\n

Conscious Parenting<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 3 evenings Yolande takes you through the developmental stages of the child and how you can learn to see what a child needs in these different stages. The focus will also be on what happens to you as a parent in certain situations. <\/p>\n

Can you respond to the situation from a place of calmness and composure? Or does something happen inside you that brings up an old pattern, leading you to think afterwards: I would have liked to do this differently? <\/p>\n

We will also look at the balance between leaving room for a child\u2019s own development, and still providing the necessary boundaries.<\/p>\n

During the program we will zoom in on your own self-awareness and intuition as a parent.<\/p>\n

Yolande Koning is the director of daycare center Zonnelicht<\/a> Den Bosch and is an expert on the development of young children. She has been working in child care for over 35 years and has studied the different developmental stages of children in different age groups. In addition, she regularly guides daycare teachers in developing their own awareness and intuition in dealing with the children. <\/p>\n
